What Golf Clubs Does Tiger Woods Use?

From 2002 until 2017, Tiger Woods was synonymous with Nike, including his golf clubs. However, in 2017, Tiger Woods signed with TaylorMade Golf, and switched up his entire back

TaylorMade was now tasked with creating golf clubs, specifically irons, that were built specifically for Tiger Woods. TaylorMade designed the P7TW irons with Tiger’s initials in the name, because he had a direct hand in how they were built. Tiger Woods has used these irons since 2017.

The rest of the clubs in Tiger’s bag are also TaylorMade. He recently switched to the Qi10 LS Driver with a Graphite Design Tour AD VF 6 X shaft. This driver is part of TaylorMade’s new 2024 driver lineup. The Qi10 LS model comes with a movable sole weight and offers an MOI of 7600 g/cm2 and a lower CG projection to reduce spin for additional distance.

This driver is a significant change from Woods’ previous TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver, indicating the evolution of his gear as he continues to compete in golf tournaments. Tiger also moved from the SIM 3-wood to the new Qi10 Tour 3-wood. However, he has kept the M3 5-wood he used for many years.

The last and most familiar club in Tiger’s bag is his Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2 prototype putter, which Tiger has used to win 14 of his 15 Major championships. Below, I’ll discuss each club in Tiger’s bag in more detail!

Driver: TaylorMade Qi10 LS

Tiger Woods switched to the TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver from the Stealth Plus in 2023. The transition to the Qi10 LS driver occurred before the 2023 PNC Championship, and it was a significant change from his previous TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver.

The new Qi10 LS driver model features advanced technology, such as carbon materials in the face and an adjustable weight system in the sole, with a weight port in the rear portion of the head. This allows him to work the ball in both directions on the golf course.

Many TaylorMade professionals have switched to the Qi10 driver, which is next-level technology that improves their performance on the golf course.

Fairway Woods: TaylorMade Qi10 Tour 3-Wood & TaylorMade M3 5-Wood

Tiger kept the TaylorMade SIM Titanium 3-wood in his bag for the longest time. He is a creature of habit, so if something didn’t feel right in his game, he always had this wood to fall back on. He recently switched to the TaylorMade Qi10 Tour 3-wood, and it appears that he will be staying in the bag for the foreseeable future.

Tiger’s 5-wood is still the TaylorMade M3, released in 2018. Although he has upgraded his driver and his beloved SIM 3-wood, he has kept the 5-wood the same.

Usually, the new technology would push these old clubs out of the bag, but Tiger feels very comfortable with this 5-wood. The 5-wood has a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited 80TV shaft and Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord 58r grip. It has 19 degrees loft.

Irons: 2023 TaylorMade P770 (3-iron) & TaylorMade P7TW (4-PW)

Tiger recently changed his 3-iron to the newest version of the P770 iron. This hollow body construction and ultra-thin face allow for a higher ball launch and more distance and forgiveness. The rest of his irons are the P7TW, which he had a hand in helping design specifically for his game.

The TaylorMade P7TW irons came out in 2019. When Tiger signed with TaylorMade, they were tasked with creating an iron set that would be perfect for him. Tiger Woods said that his irons are all about feeling; if something feels off, it will throw his entire swing off.

The P7TW irons are beautiful, traditional-looking blade irons. They have a thin top line with zero offset. They have a beautiful sound off the face of the club and will allow you to hit the same clubs that Tiger does, even without the same skill.

Tiger used these irons when he won the 2019 Masters at Augusta. His P7TW irons have True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord grips.

Wedges: TaylorMade MG4 Raw (56 and 60 Degrees)

Tiger Woods switched to the TaylorMade MG4 Raw wedges from the MG2 wedges in late 2023. The transition was influenced by Tiger Woods’ preferences and feedback from Tour players like Rory McIlroy and Colin Morikawa. The MG4 wedges feature shape and visual appeal refinements, focusing on what players perceive at the address.

The unique grind on each sole of the MG4 wedges was designed by Tiger Woods, providing ultimate versatility for any shot on any course. Additionally, the MG4 wedges incorporate Spin Tread Technology, utilizing laser etching to channel away moisture and retain spin in wet conditions.

The MG4 Raw wedges come with a refined finish and perform better in wet conditions due to the unplated material that rusts over time to preserve consistent spin. Tiger only carries two wedges in his bag. They feature Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts.

Putter: Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2

BUY IT NOW

Tiger Woods’ putter is probably the most recognizable club in Tiger Woods’ golf bag, outside of the bright orange and black head cover he dons on his driver. Tiger has used this Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2 prototype putter to win 14 of his 15 Major titles. The sweet spot is quite worn out on the middle of the putter, and yet Tiger will not use anything else.

He did go through a period where he used different putters, but this is the original putter he has carried almost from the start.

To the top club manufacturers: good luck getting him to change it now with all of the success that he has had!

What Golf Balls Does Tiger Woods Use?

BUY IT NOW

Just like at the PNC Championship when he debuted a new driver, Tiger also debuted a new prototype version of the golf ball he has been using in the past. The golf ball is the Bridgestone Tour B XS and it seems to be slightly different than the ball Tiger has used since 2020.

In this day and age, it seems harder and harder to make a golf ball better. But after using it, Tiger has said that he seems to get more distance out of it as well as more spin around the greens.

Bridgestone has a new Dual Dimple pattern which enhances aerodynamics and adds distance to the ball trajectory off the tee while promoting less drag. The new Reactive IQ also provides explosive velocity and more control around the green.

Tiger Woods Clothing Sponsorships

Tiger Woods originally signed with the Nike golf brand way back in 1996 and has worn Nike clothing on the golf course for most of his career. He has made popular wearing the red shirt on Sunday’s and has influenced golfers all around the world, both young and old.

However in early 2024, Tiger Woods and Nike ended their sponsorship deal after 27 years.

Clothing

Following his decision to leave Nike, Tiger Woods announced his own golf clothing brand called Sun Day Red. The new brand pays homage to Nike in a lot of ways, including its premium style and signature red polo shirts.

Tiger debut his Sun Day Red line at the 2024 Masters tournament, wearing some of his new polo shirts, pants, and golf hats throughout the weekend.

Golf Bag

Tiger Woods has a little bit of a different sponsor when it comes to the golf bag he uses to hold his clubs. It is not his regular clothing sponsor like Nike or TaylorMade for his clubs.

Instead, his bag sponsor is Monster Energy which is one of the most popular energy drinks on the market. The bag is all black with the classic lime green Monster logo down the side and it holds all Tigers Woods golf clubs in it.

Shoes

Tiger Woods has worn all Nike branded clothing and shoes on the PGA Tour since 1996. You would usually see Tiger wearing his signature Nike Air Zoom golf shoes, however that all changed just this week at the 2022 Masters.

Due to Tiger’s horrific car crash, he has shown signs of limited mobility in his leg. He found that the Nike golf shoes were unable to provide the support he needed and for the first time ever in his career, he wore golf shoes not made by Nike.

You will now see him in FootJoy Premier Series-Packard shoes this week at the Masters and possibly for the foreseeable future, although he did mention he is working with Nike on creating a golf shoe that he can wear with comfort on his newly rehabbed leg.

You can check out and buy the Tiger Woods FootJoy shoes below.
