SkyTrak Golf Simulator Flex Space Package (Most Flexible)

skytrak flex space garage golf simulator.png

The SkyTrak Flex Space comes with everything you will need to start golfing in your garage, and the technology is the best. Below is what is all included in the SkyTrak Flex Space simulator package. I will also outline the Entertainment Package, which has a few extra features.

SkyTrak Personal Launch Monitor

SkyTrak is one of the most popular monitor screens available for golfers. One of the great things about SkyTrak is that it is accurate on all types of golf shots. It provides all of the necessary measurements that golfers are looking for, such as:

  • launch angle
  • ball spin
  • carry distance
  • swing speed
  • angle of attack

This whole garage golf simulator is incredibly easy to set up. SkyTrak is also compatible with all iOS, Android, and PC devices, so you can immediately see the feedback on whatever device you are using.

The Flex Space package also has a metal protective case to put your SkyTrak monitor into. These metal cases are laser cut from 13-gauge steel and offer excellent protection to ensure your investment is safe. The SkyTrak can plug directly into the wall while being in the case while still providing easy access to the power button. It will also protect your SkyTrak from spills, scratches, and bumps during use.

I really like this protection for your garage golf setup

SkyTrak Game Improvement Software

Included with the SkyTrak Golf Simulator is the software that provides all the necessary course information. It provides a virtual driving range and shot tracer technology to see your ball flight.

SkyTrak provides instant analysis on every swing and offers many other features such as shot replay, closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive challenges, target practice, progress mapping, and more!

You can choose from 5 different hitting views and customize environmental settings such as wind and humidity. You get bang for your buck with this software.

HomeCourse Pro Retractable Screen

Included in the Flex Space kit is the HomeCourse retractable golf hitting screen. The screen is the best piece of equipment included in this package, and why it makes it ideal for the garage.

The HomeCourse is the perfect screen for users looking for flexibility while playing at home in their garage. With the click of a button, the screen extends down to create your indoor hitting bay. Once done, click the button again, and the screen will retract, leaving your room looking exactly how it was before.

This means it doesn’t need to be set up in your home’s garage or other rooms. The dimension of the screen is 8’H x 10’6W x 3’D.

Pro Turf Mat

The Pro Turf is a great golf mat that pairs well with this package because it can be rolled up and stored like a carpet when not in use. The golf mat is about 50 pounds and is 6′ x 10′. It also comes with two separate rubber tees to use while hitting.

Projector and Projector Shield Enclosure

Lastly, this package comes with a golf simulator projector and shield enclosure. The projector is how you get your image projected onto the hitting screen to make it the whole indoor golf experience.

The projector in this package provides 1080p resolution and has fantastic color quality. The floor projector mount is an enclosure case that lets you put your projector on the floor instead of hanging it from the roof. It helps save on cost and makes the projector portable when not in use.

Entertainment Package

You can also purchase the Entertainment Package with everything above and full golf course play on 12 world-famous golf courses from the WGT (World Golf Tour) app. For only $100 more, you get access to actual courses such as Pebble Beach and other additional features.

This small price is worth it. You are already putting a golf simulator in your garage, so you might as well make things as authentic as possible!

Why the SkyTrak Flex Space is Great For The Garage

As outlined above, the SkyTrak Golf Simulator is perfect for garage use. The screen is retractable with the push of a button, meaning when it’s not in use, it doesn’t handcuff you using your garage. The Pro Turf golf mat can also be rolled up and stored like a carpet. Most people place the enclosure on the ground, so it doesn’t need to be attached to the roof. All of this means that you can still use your space as needed, but you can turn it into a great indoor golf experience.

Mevo+ Retractable Screen Package (Best for Budget)

flightscope mevo+ retractable screen package best garage golf simulator

The best budget golf simulator perfect for garage use is the Mevo+ Retractable Screen package. The FlightScope Mevo+ is one of our top-rated golf launch monitors, and this package comes with everything you will need for an excellent indoor experience.

Flightscope Mevo+ Technology

Mevo Plus Launch Monitor

Mevo+ is a portable launch monitor from FlightScope that offers accurate data, different skills challenges, and more. It shows all of the hitting data you could ask for, such as:

  • launch angle
  • angle of attack
  • carry distance
  • shot distance
  • swing speed
  • face at impact

You can see what your ball flight is with Shot Tracer technology. Mevo+ also provides video analysis with data overlay to show you faults in your hitting and offer tips on how to get better.

HomeCourse Retractable Hitting Bay

The HomeCourse Retractable Hitting Bay is perfect for golfers who want to use this in a garage and keep the space open when it is not used. This hitting bay is retractable for when you don’t need it. When it is in use, it protects the side and also on top.

The HomeCourse Bay is made from a durable screen to withstand thousands of rounds of golf.

SwingTurf Golf Hitting Mat

The SwingTurf hitting mat is one of the top golf mats available. In this package, you can choose between a 5×5 mat or 4×9, depending on how big you are looking for and the space it will occupy.

Another great thing about this golf mat is that it has real tees, meaning you don’t have to use any pre-set rubber tees. The mat is easy to move and perfect for the garage because it can be stored away easily.

Full Turf Covering

Also included in this package are two 5×10 turf mats that allow you to cover the entire ground between the golf mat and the hitting screen. It provides a nice complete look to the hitting bay and also helps protect the floor around the hitting bay from bouncing balls off the screen.

Projector and Display

The Mevo+ Retractable Golf Simulator has a full HD 1080p projector from Short Throw Golf. It also comes with a floor enclosure, which means you don’t have to hang it from the roof, and it keeps the projector portable to use at any time.

You can also choose an iPad Pro and e6 Connect Golf Simulator software or a gaming laptop and The Golf Club 2019. The iPad Pro option will be the more price-friendly one but also has fewer golf courses you can play on.

The gaming laptop will cost more, but you get more access to better PGA Tour courses worldwide. Plus, the gaming laptop can be used for other gaming purposes.

Also included in this Mevo+ package are the following extras:

  • iPad or Laptop Stand so that the screen can be at eye level next to you
  • 25-foot HDMI cable, as well as other adaptors and cords, needed
  • Ball tray
  • Birtees, which allow you to tee up your ball to different heights on turf easily

Why the Mevo+ Package is Great For The Garage

The FlightScope Mevo+ is a tour-quality launch monitor that costs less. Plus, it can integrate with all different simulation software for maximum flexibility. The retractable hitting bay in this package is perfect for the garage. The full turf covering lets you cover up your cement and make your entire setup look consistent.

One drawback to the Mevo+ is that it requires more space behind the simulator than the SkyTrak. You need to set up the Mevo Plus behind your stance, so ensure you have plenty of space.

TruGolf Vista 10 Package (Best Premium Package)

trugolf vista 10 best garage golf simulator package

The TruGolf Vista 10 Package is a top-of-the-line garage golf simulator. Starting at $15,295, this golf simulator will not be for casual golfers. The TruGolf Vista is for experienced golfers who want to practice all year round in their homes.

This package has absolutely everything you need and is available in Basic and Pro packages. I’ll explain the difference in each package below.

TruTrack2 Tracking System

The TruTrack2 uses three rows of optical sensors that measure everything about your club during impact with the mat. This tracking system is top-of-the-line and analyzes everything, including your club path, clubface angle, ball flight, and more.

These sensors are located above you, so the stats will be completely accurate as long as your ball is lined up correctly on the mat below. It provides real-time feedback on the screen, so you know exactly what happens with each shot and what adjustments to make.

The Basic package has a TruGolf Level 1 computer that loads everything flawlessly. It is a 21” Touch Screen with a High Definition 720p projector.

Overhead Light Bar

One of the nice things included in both the Basic and Pro package is the Overhead Light Bar attached to the enclosure. It does not get in the way of your swing, but allows a nice vibrant light to shine down on your ball for easy contact.

This is great for putting this simulator into a dark garage, as you will not have to invest in massive lighting. You can keep the area around it dark and cool, and there will still be plenty of light inside the hitting bay.

Premium Fairway Mat System

The dimensions of the hitting are 4’L x 9’W, and the mat is 3.5″ thick. The quality of this hitting mat is excellent and allows you to swing down and through, which helps provide the most realistic practice compared to the real thing.

The mat offers excellent feedback and is not hard on the joints through repeated strikes.

E6 Connect Subscription (1 year)

The Basic and Pro package both include a one-year subscription to E6 Connect. The E6 Connect Golf Simulation Software is one of the best golf simulator software.

It provides all sorts of feedback on your shots, such as:

  • Launch angle
  • Clubface angle
  • Ball speed
  • Spin
  • Distance
  • Clubhead speed

Another great thing about E6 Connect is that it lets you pick different times of day and weather conditions to practice in. It also has many other in-game practice modes.

Pro Package

You can also purchase the TruGolf Vista 10 Pro package. It has everything the Basic does, plus a portable audio speaker, complete side nets and walls, and 27 pre-loaded golf courses. The computer has a slightly better Processor in it also. If you spend this much money on an in-home garage golf simulator, the extra extra for the Pro package is worth it.

Why The TruGolf Vista 10 Is Great For The Garage

The TruGolf Vista 10 is the perfect golf simulator for golfers who want to transform their garage into a year-round golfing bay. The space needed is quite ample, so it is not something you can fold up and put away when not using.

The TruGolf feels like you are at an Indoor Golf Course due to the premium quality of the hitting bay, mat, software, and more. I highly recommend this simulator if you have the space and money.

Uneekor QED SIG8 Golf Simulator (Best Compact Premium Simulator)

uneekor qed sig8 garage golf simulator.jpg

Uneekor offers a much different in-home golf simulator. Today, I will go over the least expensive one, the QED SIG8. Although it is the least costly unit offered by Uneekor, it still starts at $12,499, making it one of the more expensive ones on the market.

The features and technology of this package is very high quality, meaning you will get what you pay for.

Uneekor QED Launch Monitor

The launch monitor that Uneekor offers is incredibly precise and has two hyper-speed cameras that capture everything at more than 3000 fps. A ceiling mount comes with the package, meaning you can mount the launch monitor above you, and you won’t have to worry about hitting it while swinging.

This launch monitor provides incredibly accurate information on the golf ball and the club you use and offers real-time footage of your swing through impact.

uneekor qed launch monitor

Choice of QED Software

When you purchase a Uneekor QED Golf Simulator package, you can choose between 3 different software programs.

The standard is QED Ignite which offers basic swing analysis and a basic 3D driving range to hit on.

For $1,000 more, you can upgrade to QED Refine, which offers different challenges and practice modes along with five other golf courses with the ability to play with friends.

For $2,000 more, you can upgrade to the best software, QED Refine+. This package includes a total of 15 golf courses and an Optimization Feature that provides extra insight into your ball spin, launch angle, club head speed, and more.

SIG8 Golf Simulator Enclosure & Golf Mat

This full enclosure pairs great with the Uneekor QED simulator. The screen is durable, meaning it can take thousands upon thousands of hits and provide accurate data. The screen can also fit within very compact spaces, so if you need to jam it into a tighter space, that won’t be an issue.

The only downside to this screen is that the image only fills about 80%. You’ll see some blank spaces above and below the picture.

For the hitting mat, you can choose between two different ones. There is a 5′ x 5′ Fairway Series mat which is two inches thick and can hold an authentic golf tee. It is very soft and provides an ultra-realistic feel on every single shot.

The other option is a 4’ x 7’ SIGPRO mat which is also becoming more common. Both mats are a great choice.

Panasonic VMZ51U Projector

The projector included in this package is a Panasonic VMZ51U, which comes with all the required cables. This is a fantastic HD projector and it provides 5000+ Lumens for maximum brightness on the screen.

The projector can be placed on the ground, or you can mount it with the included Ceiling Mount to ensure it is out of harm’s way.

Why The Uneekor QED SIG8 Is Great For The Garage

The Uneekor QED SIG8 is an excellent golf simulator for the garage because the screen is relatively compact compared to other screens in different packages. The price is still high, but with everything in the package, it turns out to be a good deal.

The technology included is some of the best. Plus if you get the upgraded software, you will have multiple golf courses to play on and practice your skills all year round.

SkyTrak Training Golf Simulator Package (Best Portable Sim)

skytrak training garage golf simulator package

The SkyTrak Training Golf Simulator Package is perfect for the golfer looking for an affordable at-home golf setup. The entire package is less than $5,000, which is very inexpensive compared to the other packages you can buy.

This package has everything you need to play golf all year round at home. The whole setup is compact and can be moved around, meaning it does not have to stay in one spot.

SkyTrak Launch Monitor

The SkyTrak Launch Monitor is a compact unit that can connect wirelessly to any compatible iOS or Android device. Once connected, it will provide immediate real-time data based on every single shot you take.

The monitor captures high-speed images of the golf ball right after impact and uses these images to measure all the stats you’d want, including launch angle, ball speed, club speed, spin, distance, carry, and more.

SkyTrak also allows you to change weather and course conditions in real-time. SkyTrak is one of the best golf launch monitors available today, and you can also purchase the Protective Metal Case for an additional $149 to ensure it does not get damaged.

Basic Practice Range Software

Included in this SkyTrak package is the basic practice range software plan. It comes with a 3D practice driving range that shows your shorts in real-time and your ball performance data, but that is about it.

You can upgrade to the Game Improvement Plan, which does offer a few more games and challenges. The main thing about the upgraded Game Improvement Plan is that you can integrate with golf simulation vendors such as WGT and The Golf Club.

If your integration with this software, you can play on real-life courses. This alone is worth the upgrade, in my opinion.

Net Return Home V2 Golf Net & Turf

The Net Return golf nets are the only golf nets that will automatically return the golf ball back to the golfer who just hit it. After testing this, I can confirm this is the case, and it comes in handy.

This net can also withstand ball speeds up to 200 mph, so you don’t have to worry about not swinging hard. The net is 7′ wide and 7′ tall but can be easily stored and transported, which is nice.

Also included in the base package is the Net Return Pro Golf Turf hitting the mat. It is a standard mat, but it is 10′ long, handy with the ball return off the net. You are also able to putt on this mat due to its quality. There are upgraded mats you can also purchase, depending on what you are looking for.

Net Return V2

Why The SkyTrak Home Golf Simulator Package Is Great For The Garage

This package is great for the garage because it is very compact and can be stored and moved quickly. The net and turf can easily be moved, so you don’t necessarily have to keep them in the garage or in one spot.

As long as you have a compatible device to run the software, you can hit balls anywhere and work on your golf game all year round. The other great thing about this package is that it’s very affordable. You don’t have to spend a huge amount of money to be able to golf indoors at your home.

OptiShot Golf in a Box Bundles (Best for Casual Golfers)

The last indoor garage golf simulator option I will go over is the OptiShot Golf in a Box. Five different bundles are available, all in a different price range depending on your desired system.

When most people think of indoor golf simulators, they automatically assume how expensive they are. With the OptiShot, it doesn’t have to be that way.

Quite a few OptiShot bundles are affordable price and perfect for the garage to set up and take down quickly. Below, I will review the technology and features included in each OptiShot Golf in a Box bundle.

Click here to read our complete OptiShot 2 review.

OptiShot2 Golf Simulator

Optishot 2

The OptiShot2 provides accurate swing and ball accuracy on every single golf shot. It includes infrared sensors, which helps to provide instant and precise feedback, such as swing speed, ball speed, face impact, and more.

The biggest drawback to the OptiShot is that it doesn’t track golf ball data. Only your club speed, angle, and direction are monitored to simulate the ball path. This is acceptable but not as nice as the other garage golf simulators in this guide.

The plus side is that you can use a real ball or foam golf ball, and both work fine. It is a convenient option for the average golfer who wants a home setup but isn’t too concerned with accuracy.

Still, the OptiShot2 is very popular and a fraction of the price of other simulators. And the simulation software offers a realistic experience that lets you play on dozens of famous courses around the world.

OptiShot Stance Mat

The OptiShot Stance golf mat allows you to have a perfectly level hitting surface in your garage. It also lets you have the actual OptiShot simulator level with your stance. This will help provide accurate information on every swing.

The hitting surface is made from an excellent foam material and is 4×5. The simulator is placed on the ground.

OptiShot Hitting Net

This hitting net is fairly basic but quite durable. It fits in most rooms and folds up nicely when not in use, which is perfect for those using their garage for other things. The dimensions of the net are 7′ (H) x 10′ (W) x 3′ (D).

Golf in a Box Bundle 1

optishot golf in a box 1 bundle.png

The Golf in a Box Bundle 1 is the first and most basic option that OptiShot offers and is also the cheapest. This is perfect for a golfer looking for the most basic indoor golf experience.

Included in this bundle are:

  • OptiShot2 Golf Simulator (with 32 high-intensity infrared sensors)
  • OptiShot 5′ x 4′ stance mat
  • OptiShot hitting net
  • 15 included golf courses and a virtual driving range

As you can see, no screen comes with this bundle. This bundle is the perfect price-friendly option for someone who wants to hit balls into a net without having to drive to a driving range or golf course.

This bundle fits in any garage and is easily stored. Its affordable price is well worth it.

Golf in a Box Bundle 2

optishot golf in a box 2 bundle.png

The Golf in a Box Bundle 2 is the next option that OptiShot offers. Included with it is:

  • OptiShot2 Golf Simulator (with 32 high-intensity infrared sensors)
  • OptiShot 5′ x 4′ stance mat
  • OptiShot Pro Series hitting golf net
  • 15 included golf courses and a virtual driving range

The only difference with this bundle is the addition of the OptiShot Pro Series Return Hitting Net. This hitting net can handle ball speeds of up to 225 mph and can easily be set up and taken down in a matter of minutes. It is also called a return net because it automatically returns the ball to you after every single swing, which is convenient when hitting yourself.

This net can be stored in the black bag that comes with it, so it is very convenient for the garages when not in use.

This OptiShot Pro Series Return net costs roughly $695 USD on its own, so you get a little discount when purchased in the Golf in a Box Bundle 2.

Golf in a Box Bundle 3

optishot golf in a box 3 bundle.png

The Golf in a Box Bundle 3 is the third option that OptiShot offers for a garage golf simulator. Included in the Bundle 3:

  • OptiShot2 Golf Simulator
  • OptiShot 5′ x 4′ stance golf mat
  • OptiShot Pro Series Return hitting net
  • Attachable impact screen
  • HD Short Throw Projector

The Golf in a Box 3 bundle is where we start to ramp up to the higher-end indoor garage golf simulators. Included in this bundle are the attachable impact screen and the HD Short Throw projector. You have the option of choosing to mount the projector on the ceiling or the floor.

For garage purposes, I recommend going with the floor mount as it can be moved when not in use and does not take up any additional space. The HD projector provides 1080p resolution for a crisp, quality image. You can see your data in real-time and make changes from there.

This bundle should be at the top of the list for golfers looking for the best price-friendly impact screen and projector. For this price, you can’t go wrong!

Golf in a Box Bundle 4

optishot golf in a box 4 bundle.png

The Golf in a Box 4 bundle option that OptiShot offers include the following:

  • OptiShot2 Golf Simulator
  • OptiShot 5′ x 4′ stance golf mat
  • OptiShot Pro Bay
  • OptiShot Pro Bay Impact Screen
  • HD Short Throw Projector
  • Multiple different sizes are available

The Golf in a Box 4 bundle comes with the OptiShot Pro Bay and Pro Bay Impact Screen, two high-quality additions to your setup. The Pro Bay comes in multiple sizes, meaning you can purchase the one that best fits your space. You can get it from 8 feet high to 9’4″ tall, depending on how much clearance you have in your room.

The Bay portion protects the sides and top of the screen so that bouncing balls won’t go astray. This one will take up a little bit more space than the others, but you can choose the size that fits best.

The downside to this Bay and Screen is that it is pretty heavy and takes a while to set up. When you are installing the simulator in a garage and still want access to it, it will be a pain to put up and take down every time.

I recommend this bundle if you have a dedicated area to keep it permanently installed.

Golf in a Box Bundle 5

optishot golf in a box 5 bundle best garage golf simulator

Lastly, the fifth and final bundle that OptiShot offers includes the following:

  • OptiShot2 Golf Simulator
  • OptiShot 5′ x 4′ stance golf mat
  • OptiShot Pro Enclosure
  • OptiShot retractable screen
  • HD Short Throw Projector

If you want to spend on a high-quality indoor golf experience, I recommend the Golf in a Box 5 bundle that OptiShot has to offer. Included in this bundle are the OptiShot Pro Enclosure and HomeCourse retractable screen. With the click of a button, the screen can be pulled down and locked into place. With the same button, you can retract it up into position to use that space for something else.

The enclosure is quite large, but it makes you feel like you are in your own pod. You must have a minimum of 9-foot ceilings just due to the size of the enclosure, but you can be sure that the ball isn’t going anywhere except into the netting. The screen can take ball speeds of up to 225 mph and is very durable.

This bundle is a premium garage simulator perfect for your space!

Click here to check out the OptiShot Golf in a Box 5 bundle.

How Much Space Do You Need For a Garage Golf Simulator?

At a minimum, you need 10 feet width of space in your garage to allow left and right-handed golfers to hit freely from a mat in the center of your space. For more flexibility, 12 feet is even more comfortable.

At a minimum, you need 8.5 feet of clearance height for your golf swing and to fit your simulator screen. A garage ceiling height of 10 feet or more is preferred and recommended.

You will set your golf ball on a mat six feet from your impact screen. That means the minimum depth you need is about ten feet for clearance during your swing.

If you buy a golf launch monitor that sits behind you, like the FlightScope Mevo, Garmin R10, or Rapsodo MLM, then you need six feet of space behind you for accuracy readings. This means that your total garage simulator depth should be at least 12 feet.

If you have a simulator in front of you, such as the SkyTrak or another premium monitor, then 10 feet is sufficient.

Total Space

The minimum space requirements for a good garage golf simulator setup should be 10′ wide by 8.5′ high by 10′ deep. The recommended space for your golf simulator is 14′ wide by 12′ hight by 12′ deep.

What to Look For in a Garage Golf Simulator

Setting up an indoor golf simulator in your garage differs from a dedicated indoor man cave. Garages are dirtier and prone to more temperature fluctuation (especially if it isn’t sealed and insulated). You also have higher ceilings than in your house.

There are a few unique features you need to look for in quality golf simulators for a garage.

Most people who want to put a golf simulator into their garage also like to keep their garage open for other things. That is why retractability in a simulator screen is very important.

If the screen retracts, you can keep it closed when not in use and open up the space around it when you want to play some golf.

You will pay a premium to get screens that are retractable, but it is worth it if you want to keep the space around the screen open.

Dust Proof

Garage floors can get quite dusty and cold, especially concrete ones. It is a good idea to try and find a golf simulator that is dustproof so that dust isn’t sitting on the screen at all times.

Dust can affect the accuracy of shots and can compromise electronics over time. It is also a good idea to put some padding down in the simulator area to reduce the amount of dust collecting around the screen.

Garage golf simulators are a pricey investment, so you better take care of it!

Flexible Temperature

If you are planning on putting a simulator into your garage, it is also a good idea to make sure the doors to the garage have a tight seal and that there is solid insulation to hold the heat in. Garages can get cold, especially if not insulated.

Cole temperatures can also affect the hitting screen and the technology behind it. You want to ensure the area around the simulator is heated, like an indoor space, to ensure everything works correctly.

Ceiling Height

The minimum height for a ceiling to input a simulator is 8 feet tall, but I recommend having a higher ceiling height. Many garage golf simulators can be bought in different sizes, depending on what type of space you have.

You want to ensure you can swing a club comfortably and that balls won’t be flying all over the place. I would recommend at least a 9-foot ceiling for a garage golf simulator.

Just like the ceiling height, the golf simulator’s size depends on what type of space it fits into. Some of the smaller hitting net simulators can be placed in relatively small places, but I wouldn’t recommend that.

You want to ensure you can comfortably swing and that there is clearance behind the screen to catch the ball.

Net vs Screen

Using a net vs a screen comes down to a few different things.

First, you need to make sure you have a comfortable space to place, which means having enough clearance behind. When using a net, you must ensure you have at least a few feet of clearance behind it when using real golf balls. A foam ball won’t go as far into the net, but real balls will.

A screen does not need as much clearance behind it as a hard, durable screen you are hitting into. The screen will catch the ball and have it bounce it off smoothly.

The other consideration is your budget for a garage golf simulator. Impact screens cost quite a bit more than hitting nets, so you must determine how much you want to spend and what works best for you.

If you are serious about it, opt for a screen. The net is better if you just want to hit some balls in a small space.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can you put a golf simulator in a garage?

The garage is the most popular place where people put golf simulators because the ceilings are mostly higher, and they are away from the house in terms of noise. Sound doesn’t travel as well from the garage as to a room in the house.

What garage golf simulator do the pros use?

One of the most popular commercial golf simulators the PGA Tour pros is the HD Golf. Other simulators professionals use are the Foresight Sports GC2 and the Trackman, which are used by Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, and more!

What size garage do I need for a golf simulator?

The size of the garage does not matter as much as the ceiling height and overall clearance you have. Most double garages are around 20′ x 22′ in size, which is plenty big enough if it is just used for a simulator. You may want a more oversized garage if the simulator is only going to be a small portion of it. Opt for a retractable screen for a smaller space so that you can retract it when it is not in use.

How high do your ceilings need to be for a golf simulator?

You can use a golf simulator in a room with 8-foot ceilings, but that is the lowest. I recommend at least 9-foot ceilings, so you have plenty of room to swing and clearance behind.

Can you use actual golf balls in a garage golf simulator?

If you are using a simulator with a hitting net, you need to make sure there is enough clearance behind the net to take the recoil of a real ball. Using an impact screen, you can always use a real golf ball. The screen is rugged and durable enough to take the impact of a real golf ball.

How much does a garage golf simulator cost?

Golf simulators can range from $2,000 to over $50,000, depending on the features, accuracy, and brand.

What type of projector should I use for my garage golf simulator?

Short-throw projectors are recommended for golf simulators as they require less distance between the projector and the screen, making them suitable for most garages.

Can I install a garage golf simulator myself or do I need professional help?

Many golf simulator packages come with detailed instructions for self-installation, but some may require professional installation depending on the complexity and required electrical work.

Can I use my own golf clubs and balls with a garage golf simulator?

Yes, most golf simulators are designed to be used with standard golf clubs and balls, allowing you to practice with your own equipment.

Is a garage golf simulator suitable for all skill levels?

Yes, garage golf simulators can cater to players of all skill levels, from beginners to professionals, by offering customizable settings and features that adapt to the user’s skill level.
