The club face also has a raw finish, meaning the entire club face is not plated and is “raw.” This provides optimal spin and increased performance on all of your approach shots.

A High Bounce wedge is a wedge that has more than 10 degrees of bounce. This means that the leading edge of the club sits higher when the sole is rested on the ground. A higher bounce wedge will help golfers generate a lot of spin on the golf ball as it will dig deeper into the ground at impact.
If you are someone who has a steep attack angle or knows that you take deep divots with your wedges, you should take a look at High Bounce wedges.
Low Bounce wedges are the complete opposite of high. They usually only have about 4-7 degrees of loft and are ideal for hitting off of the firm ground. The wedge’s leading edge sits quite a bit lower, allowing a cleaner contact on the ball and less of a divot.

TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3 vs MG3
The Milled Grind 3 wedges by TaylorMade are the company’s flagship golf wedges, so how does the new Hi-Toe 3 compare to them?
Well, the two aren’t that comparable.
The TaylorMade MG3 lineup is a more traditional set of wedges. Each club has its own unique loft and associated angles and grooves to optimize them. The Hi-Toe 3 is more of a utility wedge, wearing many hats for each one you buy.
The Hi-Toe 3s have unique grinds on them and full-face grooves that give all players a ton of versatility. The center of gravity in the HT3s are very centered. This means that you wedge shots don’t go as high, but offer more spin to stop on the spot.
MG3 wedges will fly higher, but amateur golfers won’t be able to get consistent spin without some skill and practice.
The MG3 wedges will still be the most popular for traditionalists and more serious golfers who want a full set of clubs. The Hi-Toe wedge is a more versatile club that can be used all around the green.

How Many TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3 Wedges Should You Buy
With such a versatile club, how many HT3 wedges should you buy? I think that for most players, two HT3s will replace all 4 wedges in your golf bag: pitching, approach, sand, and lob.
A 50 or 52 degree loft will replace your pitching and approach wedges. A 56 or 58 degree loft will replace your sand and lob wedges.
On the PGA tour, some of the golfers using the new Hi-Toe 3 have gone with one wedge, while keeping their others in the bag.
What I Like About the TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3
There is a lot to like about these new TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3 wedges. First, I like the full-length scoring lines on the 54-degree wedges and up. You wouldn’t think something so small would be such a huge difference, but having the grooves across the entire face of the wedge seems to inspire a lot of confidence before your shot.
The grooves also adds a notable amount of spin on the ball in close-range shots. If you need to open your club face to hit a flop shot, the grooves inspire extra confidence there too.
I also love the number of options that TaylorMade provides. There is a Hi-Toe 3 wedge for everyone, depending on what you are looking for and what you usually hit when using a wedge. There are standard, low, and high bounce options and many different lofts.
The My Hi-Toe 3 customization is also great. Some golfers may find these wedges expensive. However, if you are able to customize them to your liking fully, then the price will be worth it.
Sitting up behind the ball, this wedge inspires confidence when hitting wedge shots. The brushed copper finish is excellent, and the versatility is incredible.
What I Don’t Like About the TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3
The one thing I don’t like about golf clubs marketed for amateurs is the raw material type. Raw clubs are supposed to allow for more spin because they aren’t coated with a finish. However, I never notice the difference enough, and more other amateur golfers won’t either.
What Raw clubs do is rust easier unless you take good care of them. And amateur golfers don’t usually have caddies washing off their clubs after every hit. If you play in regularly wet conditions, raw clubs can fade in quality quickly.
Starting at $179.99 USD, some golfers may find the Hi-Toe 3s too expensive. I think that it depends on your skill level and what you are looking to get out of them. If you don’t need to buy as many wedges for your bag, this might actually turn out cheaper in the end.
