One feature I really like is the new ‘Bag Mapping’ feature, where you can calibrate and assign your exact set of clubs into the game. At the end, you can email this to yourself as a PDF file of your stats, which is great to have the information in writing.

How to Set Up the SkyTrak+ Launch Monitor
Once you get the SkyTrak launch monitor out of the box, it is easy to set up and use.
- Plug the USB-C charge cable into the monitor and the other end into the wall adapter to charge.
- Charge the launch monitor fully before using it.
- While the launch monitor is charging, pull out whatever device you will use with it, whether it’s your mobile device or PC/Mac computer.
- Head to the app store or the official SkyTrak website to download the SkyTrak app.
- Once installed, open the SkyTrak application on your device.
- Click Add User to create your own profile.
- Once your profile is created, it will search for your SkyTrak launch monitor. If you are on Wi-Fi, you must disconnect and connect to the SkyTrak Wi-Fi once it becomes available. Make sure the SkyTrak is on during this process.
- Click About and Register My Device to register your device with the application.

Using SkyTrak+: User Experience
Setup and Calibration
Setting up the SkyTrak+ launch monitor is incredibly easy and only takes minutes. The longest part of the setup is leaving the launch monitor to charge for a few hours before using it.
Once you have the SkyTrak app downloaded and installed, it is simple to connect to your monitor. You connect directly to the machine through its own Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can connect directly to your network through Network Mode.
Regarding calibration, the SkyTrak+ launch monitor doesn’t require any special calibrating. It is one of the most straightforward launch monitors on the market and provides the easiest way to hit a golf ball.
Once connected, set the launch monitor on the ground near your golf ball. A red laser will shine out of the top of the launch monitor, where you need to place your ball.
As long as you are hitting balls from this spot, the launch monitor will capture all the club data.
Data Accuracy and Consistency
After using the SkyTrak+ launch monitor for a while, I can confidently say that the swing data transmitted to the screen was accurate and reliable. The total distance on each shot was correct unless I had a bad swing.
The main thing to remember is to always have your golf ball on the red laser from the machine. The data was fully accurate as long as the ball was hit from there.
I also loved how it added even more data points for you to look over and review. These include the launch angle, face angle, ball flight data, clubhead speed, carry distance, and smash factor.
You can save this information through the SkyTrak app as a PDF and email it to yourself to study, making you a better golfer.

It’s easy to see why SkyTrak is one of the most popular golf launch monitors used in a golf simulator setup. From being incredibly easy to set up to how accurate the data is, the SkyTrak+ is better than other launch monitors.
The graphics through the SkyTrak app itself are great. The all-new Game Improvement features allow you to complete a skills assessment to map your bag and fine-tune your golf clubs.
SkyTrak also added a new and improved Shot Optimizer, allowing you to review your club and ball data. They also added a new Shot Score system which looks at your data and gives you a red, green, or yellow number compared to other golfers worldwide. This lets you know if your spin is where it should be, among other data.
App Integration and Ease of Use
SkyTrak is compatible with the most popular golf simulation software, making it incredibly easy to connect to each of these. I only tested it with E6 Connect, but everything would be similar with WGT and The Golf Club 2019.
With E6 Connect, I needed to download the E6 app through my PC. Once downloaded and installed, I could easily connect my SkyTrak launch monitor to it. After that, I needed to open up the E6 Connect golf app, pick my golf course, and go from there.
The app integration is excellent and allows you to play amazing courses worldwide. If you didn’t want to play a golf course, you could stick to the skills challenges through the SkyTrak app, such as closest to the pin and longest drive.
What I Like About the SkyTrak+ Launch Monitor
The SkyTrak+ launch monitor is one of the best launch monitors, period. I would even say it stacks up against competitors who are much more expensive.
Everything about the SkyTrak+ was great. It is a slick-looking device and was very easy to set up in minutes. The great thing is you don’t even need a super expensive golf simulator setup to use this machine. You only need a hitting surface, a net to catch the golf ball, and a device compatible with the SkyTrak app.
Having enough space to swing your golf club is another added bonus.
I found that the SkyTrak+ provided accurate ball and club head data on my golf shots. It let me know my clubhead speed, carry distance, total distance, launch angle, ball speed, ball flight, and other stats.
Another great thing about this launch monitor is that it has no gimmicks. You don’t need special golf balls to hit or some sensor attached to your golf club to track your club data. You instantly use real golf balls with nothing attached to your club and get reliable data.
Another nice advantage is that the SkyTrak is configured right beside your golf stance setup. You don’t need to place it six feet behind you, like traditional doppler devices like the FlightScope Mevo.
The SkyTrak+ is a quality golf simulator and a great option for golfers wanting to hit balls both inside and outside.
What I Don’t Like About the SkyTrak+ Launch Monitor
Honestly, there isn’t much to dislike about the SkyTrak+ launch monitor. It thoroughly exceeded my expectations. That being said, there are a few minor issues with it.
First, although it is affordable compared to other launch monitors, it is still a relatively expensive machine. Some golfers may not find it worth the money, but it depends on what you are looking to get out of it.
If you are building your own golf simulator space, it is the best option at a cheap price. If you want just to hit some balls into a net every few days, you can probably find a more affordable launch monitor.
Second, the SkyTrak+ launch monitor isn’t convenient if you are a right-handed golfer playing against a left-handed golfer in real life. As the machine faces the ball, it would technically need to be switched every swing to get accurate data.
