Callaway JAWS Raw Wedges Overview
The new Callaway JAWS Raw wedges are brand new in the lineup and are made to improve the short game of any golfer. These wedges replace the previous Mack Daddy 5 (MD5) wedges in the Callaway family.
Marc Leishman has been playing these wedges since the Zurich Classic in New Orleans which was held back in April 2022. Xander Schauffele and Kevin Kisner have also been using these wedges in 2022, seeing great results with them.

Raw Face Finish
We know that “Raw” is in the name of the wedge, but what exactly is a raw wedge? In simple terms, raw finish wedges are wedges that do not have a finish or coating applied to the face.

What I Like About the Callaway JAWS Raw Wedges
Having never used a “Raw” wedge before, you can definitely tell a difference the way the ball comes off the face of the wedge. These wedges are a true spin machine that give you maximum stopping power around the green. The offset groove technology also supports more spin. These will be a popular choice for all golfers looking to upgrade their wedges.
I also like the fact that Callaway gives multiple different options for type of wedge,loft, and bounce configurations – SEVENTEEN to be exact. This means that you will be able to find exactly what fits you best without having to settle for something else.

What I Don’t Like About the Callaway JAWS Raw Wedges
The only downside to a “Raw” wedge is the fact that the club face does not have a finishing on it. In theory, these wedges might rust a little faster than other clubs. For this reason, you’ll want to buy a good groove sharpener to keep your club clean. You will have to ensure that you are keeping them dry to get the absolute best playability long term.
With the JAWS Raw wedges being brand new, the price will obviously coincide with that as well.
