What Golf Clubs Does Dustin Johnson Use?

Dustin Johnson is a TaylorMade Golf ambassador, along with many other PGA Tour Golfers. As a brand, it probably has one of the strongest lineups in all golf, including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Rickie Fowler, and more!

DJ has spent his entire 14-year professional golf career signed to TaylorMade, which will continue for the foreseeable future. He signed a contract extension with them back in January 2021. Dustin Johnson’s entire bag is full of TaylorMade clubs, from his driver down to the putter. It is a classic example of “don’t fix what isn’t broken,” as DJ has spent numerous times as the World’s Number 1 Golfer. DJ looks to continue his success in the upcoming 2022 season!

Check out all of his clubs in more detail below.

Driver: TaylorMade Stealth Plus

BUY IT NOW

Dustin Johnson is one of the many PGA Tour golfers using the brand new TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver.

Back in 2021, DJ was only 21st in strokes gained off the tee and 136th in driving accuracy, which is obviously relatively low for someone who has been atop the World Golf rankings before. However, when TaylorMade handed him the new Stealth driver, he fell in love instantly. DJ loved the carbon face, and it seemed to fit him quite well.

DJ has always been one of the longest drivers on Tour, and he hopes to continue that with the new Stealth driver.

The Stealth Driver series has gotten rave reviews from all PGA Tour players who have used it. The new Carbon face is lighter than the standard titanium used and delivers way faster ball speeds off the front of the driver.

DJ uses the Stealth Plus version with 10.5 degrees loft. He also has a LA Golf Prototype shaft installed, and he uses Golf Pride Tour Velvet 58R grips.

Fairway Woods: TaylorMade Stealth HL (3-wood) & TaylorMade Stealth (7-wood)

BUY IT NOW

Dustin Johnson has switched to a full TaylorMade Stealth woods lineup, including his 3 wood, 7 wood, and hybrid. His Stealth High Launch 3-wood is 16.5 degrees, and he has an LA Golf Prototype shaft installed.

The new Stealth HL 3-wood has a 3D Carbon Crown which pulls mass away from the high toe area. This allows the weight to be more positioned to the center, which provides maximum forgiveness. It also has the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket that is on the Stealth drivers, and this is to generate maximum ball speeds off the face of the wood.

The Stealth 7 wood carries the same features with a higher loft at 21 degrees. DJ has a Project X HZURDUS Smoke Black RDX 95 6.5 shaft installed in the 7 wood.

Dustin Johnson uses Golf Pride Tour Velvet 58R grips on his fairway woods.

Hybrid: TaylorMade Stealth Rescue 4

BUY IT NOW

Along with his 3 and 7 wood, Dustin Johnson also like to carry around a hybrid in his bag to cover certain distances. He uses the TaylorMade Stealth Rescue 4 hybrid with 22 degrees loft. DJ used to carry a 3 iron for these distances, but swapped it out for the Rescue hybrid at this year’s Masters.

He usually switches between a 3 iron and 4 hybrids, depending on what course he is playing and what type of conditions are present. If he is looking for higher long approach shots, he will bring the hybrid out for the extra loft.

The Stealth Rescue hybrid carries much of the same features as the driver and woods. The V Steel Sole Design maintains optimal launch out of any lie, and the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket generates maximum ball speeds for even the fastest of swings.

DJ has a Project X HZURDUS Smoke Black RDX 105 6.5 shaft installed along with a Golf Pride Tour Velvet 58R grip.

Irons: TaylorMade P730 DJ Proto (4-PW)

BUY IT NOW

Dustin Johnson has been using his P730 Prototype irons for a couple of years now. He obviously likes them because TaylorMade built them exactly how he wanted. These are a straight blade iron, and DJ said that he can work the ball around more with blades. DJ said that he can hit these blade irons higher and straighter than any other club he has struck before.

TaylorMade has said that the P730s are the most finely crafted blade irons that they have to offer. They were built with direct feedback from some of the world’s best golfers. They have a forged carbon steel head with precision-milled grooves that produce a soft feel and excellent shot-shaping ability.

You cannot buy the P730s anymore, but TaylorMade has upgraded the lineup to the P770s and those are freely available through the links above.

DJ uses True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts in his irons, and they have Golf Pride Tour Velvet 58R grips on them.

Wedges: TaylorMade MG (52 & 60 degrees)

BUY IT NOW

Dustin Johnson is currently using TaylorMade Milled Grind wedges and has been since early 2021. He is presently carrying a 52 and 60 degree wedge at this time for all kinds of shots around the green. He sometimes brings the newer Milled Grind 2 models into the bag but usually switches back for the older models.

The shape of these wedges is crisp and clean, and you can be aggressive in all types of shots, knowing exactly where the ball will end up.

DJ uses KBS Tour Custom Black 120S shafts and has Golf Pride Tour Velvet 58R grips installed on his wedges.

Putter: TaylorMade Spider Limited Itsy Bitsy

BUY IT NOW

If there is one club that has given Dustin Johnson problems in the past, it would definitely be his putter. He has switched between them often but seems to have found one that has worked in the TaylorMade Spider Itsy Bitsy.

DJ has used blade putters in the past but definitely prefers the more oversized mallet type head that the Spider putters offer. DJ has admitted in the past that at the end of the day, he is a golf nerd and likes to practice using all of the new clubs. When it comes to his putter, he is not very superstitious.

DJ uses a LA Golf shaft on his putter with a Super Stroke Traxion Pistol GT 1.0 grip.

What Golf Balls Does Dustin Johnson Use?

BUY IT NOW

Dustin Johnson is currently hitting the TaylorMade TP5x 2019 golf ball on the course. Thhe TP5x is probably the best tour pro ball that TaylorMade offers, with low spin and tour performance.

The TP7x has the Tour Flight dimple pattern that allows for improved aerodynamics and maximum carry through the air. There is also a softer cast urethane cover for increased groove interaction which means easier to control spin around the green.
